- How the evolving technologies relate to national and international policymaking
That national and international policy making being related to the evolving technological advancements is without doubt. From the olden times, it was evident that the law enforcement officers adapted the new technologies that were in existent to deter criminal activities. In the recent times, it would be next to impossible for the police officers to deter and prevent crimes without the application of the technological advancements most of which will be elaborated beneath. Bearing in mind that the national as well as international policy making process takes matters of security to be of the highest priority, they always tend to take the evolving technologies into consideration (Goodin & Tilly, 2008). This can be attributed to the fact that they do offer the best deterrence strategies, and without them, the criminals would be a step ahead of them bearing in mind that they as well adapt the new technologies in their criminal activities. Hence, it can be concluded without uncertainty and reservation that the evolving technologies do relate to the national and international policy making.
- Evolving law enforcement
Just as technology is said to be ever changing over time so does the law enforcement technologies. The law enforcement develops towards the containment of criminal activities. Such evolving law enforcement technology comprises various emerging technologies as well. Such advancements in technology include the mounting of CCTV cameras around areas that are deemed dangers with an objective of deterring criminal activities. Additional advancements on the law enforcement that are geared towards the deterrence of criminal activities may include the placement of license plates readers to electronic tracking systems. It is through such advancements that it has been possible for law enforcement officers in the locating of embezzled goods. Equivalently, the law enforcement officers have not been left behind in the application of social media technological advancements in their quest for deterring criminals activities (Goodin & Tilly, 2008). Facebook and Twitter are such Medias that have been used from where the officers reach out to the community to assist them in reporting criminal activities and as a result, preventing crime. Moreover, the social media mentioned can be used to spy and surveillance on individuals that are suspected to be up committing crime (Bolton, 2008). Although technological advancements can be said to be utilized by criminals, only one thing is for sure; that the law enforcement technologies will catch up with them over time.
- Forensic technologies
Forensic technologies can as well be known as forensic science. It is a term that refers to the comprehensive and extensive variety of sciences and technologies that are applied in the investigations of situations with an aim of collecting evidence from a crime scene. In other words, it is a term that elucidates the solicitation of scientific understanding and approaches to permissible problems as well as criminal investigations (Bolton, 2008). Over time, the forensic science has evolved to the incorporation of various laboratory testing’s all of which are aimed at providing as well as detecting criminal activities. Forensic technologies has been credited with the development of approaches such as DNA testing, exposure and reclamation of human remains, incineration and bomb blast analysis all of which as resent technologies that are applicable the detection of criminal activities (Goodin & Tilly, 2008).
