- BBC News about Gender Role
“Japanese Astronaut changes gender roles; her husband is back to home to look after his daughter.” This news is published by BBC in the topic on gender roles. The four women are orbiting the earth on the international space station. Among the four, one is the Japanese astronaut, and her space flight questions the gender roles between men and women. Mrs. Naoka Yamazaki is the second Japanese women astronaut in the space; her husband gave back his job to look after his seven- year old daughter Yuki, and his husband wants to satisfy his wife’s ambitions. Mr. Taichi Yamazaki is washing rice, doing laundry, etc. According to my view; this news is highly unethical because it affects one feeling. The astronaut’s husband has been shown as a man doing women’s job. There is no written rule that men have to work and women have to take care to her family. The news teaches that the men have to work, and women, even she is having ambition in her area of specialization; she has to work. The news is an unethical way of analyzing a gender role. The news is not following the moral values of a media. In this century, men and women are given equal responsibilities so the culture is not getting affected by doing women’s job in home.
2. Chicago Tribune News on Gender Roles
“Men are Domination the Women by Speaking about the Gender.” This news is published in the Chicago Tribune. The media publishes the news, which is unethical. In this century, men are doing the women’s job in home: to satisfy their wife’s ambition but this news is bringing media back to the older centuries; in older centuries men will be dominating the women by speaking about the gender role. This news not followed the moral values of a media because this news may create violence among the people. This news is bringing our culture back to the older centuries.
