RESEARCH CONTINUOUS QUALITY ASSURANCE
In the medical filed, it is very important to maintain the quality of the service. Quality assurance is one of the basic and fundamental factors in the medical sector. All the health institutions must have high commitment in the quality assurance so that the patients get the best health care from those institutions. Such institutions must make provision of services like x-ray, radiology, doctors on standby position, emergency response and good team of health staffs like doctors, nurses, health assistants etc. together with other basic requirements of the health care institutions.
Quality Assurance in School Clinics
The quality assurance in the health institutions based on the school has helped the schools to comply with the standards of minimum health care, and made these institutions enable to deliver the health services to the students in the school. Quality assurance in the school clinics has improved the service delivery of these clinics and the quality of the service can be evaluated by the school through the evaluation of the health care service that is delivered by the physician and other health staffs in the school (Hurst, 2005).
The Quality Assurance Efforts In School clinics
The clinics in the schools have to provide diverse nature of the health care service to the students, school staffs, and scholars and even to the community located around the school. The health need of these people vary considerably so the school clinics must be ready to deliver variety of qualitative service. It is also very important to have the highest quality health staffs because delivering health care in school is very sensitive because majority of the people who require health service are children and youths of very small age, and people of this age group are always sensitive to the health care service.
Many schools and colleges put their highest effort in employing the professional health workers for the students. These professional health works provide hospital service in the schools. Apart from that, the school clinics are designed and crafted in such a way that it looks no less than any big hospital and can serve many students and peoples at a time. Separate patient beds, labs, operating rooms, rest rooms etc. are designed in a proper condition and periodic evaluation of the wellbeing of these amenities and facilities are done to ensure that the clinics meets the basic quality requirement (Thareja & Thareja, 2007). This assures that the health care service provided is of the highest quality.
How the quality efforts relate to patient-physician relationships
There can be several ways to boost up the patient-physician relationship, however; on of the way to boost such relationship is the quality assurance. One of the criteria to assure the quality is the presence of physician and other health staffs any time. In addition to this, the service is said to meet one of the quality requirement if the physician is able to provide one-to-one service to the patients whereby the physician can interact properly with the patient (Zimmerman, 2012). As per the process of quality assurance, the patient must be able get medical facility at any time and to make this possible, a physician must be always available with his team to interact with the patient and provide the service. A separate bed for the patient also enhances the patient-physician relationship because a doctor has to visit each bed and interact with the patient about their condition of health. This is also an effort to assure the quality.
A Summary of the Findings
With the careful evaluation of the topic, following things have been found
Almost all of the health facilities in the schools have high concern and commitment towards quality assurance health programs covering almost all aspects of health care.
The health care facility in the school is driven by the overall goal and objective of the school to deliver the best health care as well as the goals and objectives of the health care facility.
The schools with the health care facility have paid highest effort to have a professional health care team ready to serve the students and the school community.
Apart from all, the school clinics have relatively small patient groups and these groups can access the city hospitals with sophisticated facilities any time. In most case, school clinics have stood as a primary health care and first aid centers. However, they have made efforts to provide health care of even complex nature like x-rays and radiology in the school clinics.
All the services provided by the school clinics are periodically evaluated to assure that the service provided is of highest quality.
Ethical Foundations to provide quality health care
There are several reasons and foundations that drive the service towards ethical quality health care. There are several health care laws governing the health care providers and making them serious and more responsible in delivering the health care. Acts like Patients Protection Act, Affordable Care Act and several other acts has made the health professionals ethically responsible to provide the best health care service.
