Identification and Profile of the Organization
For the purpose of conducting cultural analysis, Ritz-Carlton Hotel has been selected as a reference company. Ritz Carlton is one of the most prominent business organizations operating at international level. The hotel operates a worldwide luxury Hotel chains across 26 countries. The company operates 81 luxury hotels across the globe, which illustrates the comprehensiveness of the business operations of the organization (Ritz-Carlton, 2012).
Cultural analysis of the organization through OCP typology
Culture of an organization can be defined as the behavior, perspective and perception of people working as a part of that organization. The internal policies, procedures and belief of the organization get influenced significantly by its internal culture. For the purpose of analyzing the nature and type of the organization culture, a framework, namely Organizational Culture Profile (OCP) typology can be adopted. As per OCP framework, there are 7 different types of organizational cultures possessed by different type of organization. The topology can be demonstrated in the figure presented as below:

As per this framework, the culture adhered by an organization depends upon its core philosophy and working norms. On the basis of the analysis of the core culture of Ritz Carlton Hotel, it can be reflected that the hotel possesses detailed oriented organizational culture. It is due to the reason, being a service business organization it is quite essential for the company to enhance the experience of its guests for which it focuses on precision and paying attention to details. In this regard, the hotel keeps detail record of its customers and its related information such as newspaper preferences, color of bad sheets and curtains, and food habits so that differentiated and customer centric services can be delivered to the customers (Measuring Organizational Culture, 2003). For the purpose of inducing the habits of keeping such types of detailed records of guests, the business organization has induced detailed oriented working culture.
Analysis of Policies of the hotel
The operational policies of the hotel are directed to reflect its working culture. In direction to this, an in-depth analysis of company’s different policies can be done. For instance, in order to hire new employee, the hotel undertakes a differentiated policy. For this purpose, it studies the working norms adopted by top performers in other organizations on the basis of which, it sets a new profile for a job position. In addition to this, the company determines benchmarked qualification and job description for hiring new employees on the basis of comparative study of the market. In addition to this, for employee dress code, the organization does not have any strict policies. However, wearing formal dresses is mandatory for each of the employee of the hotel. In order to evaluate performance of the organization, the organization undertakes feedback from the side of its guests. For this purpose, guests are requested to provide their feedbacks regarding delivery of services provided by them. This feedback also becomes one of the prime aspects of promotion criteria for the employee within the organization (Lampton, 2003). The company undertakes the feedbacks regarding performance of the employee from his co-employees, seniors, and customers.
On the basis of OCP analysis, it has been revealed that company undertakes detailed oriented culture. The policy of the company are quite aligned with the detailed oriented culture as the organizations capable enough for addressing differentiated demands of guests in detail.
