A well known DIY department store has asked you to complete a hazard identification process at one of their stores. These are the notes you take:
The entrance to the store is wet from the morning’s rain. Store staff are lifting heavy boxes to place on shelves above their heads. Pieces of cardboard are being left in aisles after the goods have been unpacked and placed on shelves. Paint has been spilt in one aisle and at the moment no one has attended to it. Staff on the checkout aisles are sitting on aged and in one case an unbalanced chair. An assistant manager / supervisor carries a large amount of cash in his pocket from a cash register pickup.
- A hazard identification template has been provided below. From the above report complete the template.
- If you were a staff member and noticed any of these hazards who would you report it to.
I would report it to management so that they can act on them.
