Mother Goose and Grimm
In fact, the character questions a very hard issue nowadays; is there a God or not! The question talks about an ongoing concern for many in the world who argue if God is there or not. The invisibility of God has always been an argumentative topic to discuss as many believe that seeing is believing. The character here doesn’t seem to have hands, so it doesn’t believe they exist. Similarly, God is not seen in most religions on earth, which pushed many of not believing there is a God. “It’s there if only you see it”, and the character believes only in objects that can be seen and touched.
The character needs hands, which will definitely make life easier. But God is not listening to its need. However, the character makes us ask if there is a God, why doesn’t he listen to its prayers. It’s significantly relevant to the topic that in most heavenly religions; the relationship with God is a life style continuous matter. Which means God should always be there in humans’ lives whether or not there was something they ask for from him.
The fact that a person does not see the ability of God to help him or her in the times of their trouble explains a state of lack of hope. The use of the statement “I don’t know” here gives a clear message that there so many questions in the minds of those persons who have put their trust in God and yet life is still hard for them. People expect that by putting their faith in God is the surest way to better life but opposite of the same sometimes happen. God may sometimes allow people to go through temptations and trials for their faith to grow strong and understand that there is God able help them regardless of situations beyond their understanding control.
The whole issue addressed here is about God. Many people doubt whether they get a helping hand from God. The small and weaker hand even though it is somewhere able to experience the uplifting support also doubts whether there is any helping hand at all. The many issues, discouragements, trials and prosecutions that people go through in life is what makes them sometimes look back and question whether God really exist and if He cares about all people if he does exist.
