In these times for those who are not submerged in technology matters, can result very difficultly to make the best decision when buying a new laptop. There are a lot of brands that manufacture laptops, different base software, and each manufacturer made different laptops, to cover different needs, and as it wasn’t enough around every 3 weeks a new laptop or upgrade comes up. This makes people to study very much at the time of getting a new laptop and analyzing what is the best option given the price in most times.
In the past two years a rising technology has come to our hands: these are laptops that are intended for those that have a 400 US $ budget that is the media among the market. Nowadays, there are different brands of that offer laptops around this prices, and it looks like every day new one comes to the market, in this paper Dell Inspiron, HP, and Toshiba laptops will be considered, all of them have similar features, that make it difficult to know which the best is. In the following paragraph, the features will be discussed for this matter. The models that will be presented are available in the market at the moment.
With all the technology available, big companies invest a lot of money finding a way to manufacture top of the line laptops and to be able to sell them at reasonable prices, keeping the average laptop in the range of 300-500 US$, this make them available to most people.
Processing speed, High Storage, easy to carry, and great resolution is what most people looks for but there are other factors to keep in mind at the time of selecting the right laptop to purchase. Let’s take a look of a few models of the most known brands and newer laptop models.
Dell Inspiron - I15RVT-6143BLK – Price: 399.99 $. According to this laptop is one of the best options available for the brand thinking in performance and cost; it has Wi-Fi incorporated and 15,6” tactile screen, this laptop makes it easy to surf on the internet while traveling. Technical Features: Surprisingly for the price this laptop has an AMD A6-5200 four core with AMD Radeon HD 8400 that allows the computer to perform optimally for the higher demands, SDRAM DDR3 4 GB RAM incorporated also expandable to 8 GB, and multi format DVD±RW/CD-RW; this option has the best screen qualities taking to consideration the resolution thanks to the BrightView new technology and a 1366 x 768 resolution. The storage is the largest among the considered laptops with a 750 (5400 rpm) hard drive; also this laptop includes cloud storage of 25 GB for live time in Box so you can access your files while traveling. The rest of the features are similar talking about LAN, USB ports, HDMI ports, and multimedia lector.
This laptop is a little heavier with 5.4 pounds and 1.4” thick; this laptop as the others has the Microsoft Windows 8.1 OS 64 bits pre- installed.
Toshiba - C75D-A7102 - Price: 349.99 $: This is the largest of the laptops considered with 17,3” backlight LED TFT screen that brings the user 720p resolution experience add a cost that without doubts is a lot less of what one might expect.
Technical Features: The VISION of AMD makes that pictures and web sites look amazing and enhance digital music reproduction, as the HP model has four core processor AMD A6-5200M in this case also with AMD Radeon HD 8400, counts with a DDR3 4GB RAM but in this case can be expanded up to 16 GB the largest of them all. It has the same multi format DVD±RW/CD-RW unit format as the Dell Inspiron and also 500 GB hard drive which makes the HP model the one with more storage space. Comparison and Conclusion
Dell laptop has an excellent third generation double core Intel processor, in performance matters for core this is the best of the three considered. In multitask performance of multiple core, Toshiba and HP are the best given that they have four cores instead of two in the Dell model, this means that, for software that use multiprocessing for more than two cores, Dell laptop is left behind by far.
Talking about the graphics, HP and Toshiba laptops have the same graphic processor (AMD Radeon HD 8400). This processor is more powerful than the one that Dell offers, giving a better behavior and image to the running application.
When it comes to storage capability, HP has the largest space with a 750 GB hard drive in comparison to the 500 GB presented by the others. This means more space to save your personal information than with the others.
About the RAM memory, all the three models have 4GB but Toshiba has more expandable RAM memory up to 16 GB.
Having consider all the features clearly HP gives us the best option for this price range, the only matter where this computer does not stands out is, battery duration, given that it has three cells and the others have six, nevertheless this model without doubts is the one that personally will buy for myself.
