Critical Thinking
Critical thinking, as stated in http://www.criticalthinking.com, “is the identification and evaluation of evidence to guide decision making”. Critical thinking is the way one analyzes the information relying on the facts and not on his/her own concerns only.
Thus, the critical thinker is the one who “decide what to believe or do”. He/she is open to new information and others’ points of view. The critical thinker tries to compare the facts and define them clearly. He/she is accurate and careful in decision making to be precise in his/her point of view. The critical thinker always asks questions for analysis, he/she is rather skeptical about new information and, at the same time, he/she can change his/her mind through the facts he/she learns. The critical thinker sees the wide range of nuances, interpreting them and making decisions. That is why the critical thinker is never egoistic in his/her views. He/she always looks for the facts and points of view to apply them to his/her believes and thoughts.
I am trying to be the critical thinker and I believe I succeed in this. It is important for me to learn other points of view and to know the reliable facts. After that I compare them to my own believes and make my mind concerning the topic relying on the new information.
The strengths I bring which can help me in critical thinking are flexibility of views and believes. It means that if the piece of information contradicts to my personal believes but it is valid I could change my mind according to the information I’ve got. At the same time I am rather skeptical and won’t follow someone’s point of view if it seems to be questionable. Only analysis can bring me to decision making.
