It gave a push to this campaign by asking the support of its users across the European nations back in 1993. The founder of this cosmetic company, Roddick Anita Dame joined hands to support the initiative formed to fight against animal testing for cosmetics. In 1996, she joined The European Coalition that was fighting against the act of performing experiments. She, together with other independent body officers, filed a petition to be allowed to collect approximately four million signatures to be presented to the European commission by then. The efforts of this strong woman did not fade in vain, in 2003, the European Union signed the petition into law and hence animal testing on cosmetics was banned.
Community Fair Trade was formed by the Body Shop Company to provide access to the low leveled markets that are in danger of extinction. Its main objective was to provide information that would inspire the mission of the company. This body formed by the Body Shop Company was established to provide a long-term relationship in trade experience. The experience was viewed in terms of frankness and trust within the involved parties.
