- Museum or Gallery:
- Exhibit Title: Sometimes, what Binds Also Chokes
- There are several items on display and they are drawings, paintings and photographs. The arrangement is formal
- There is not a single theme of the show because the artists have different pieces of art each with its own theme. This is because each has their own piece of work that draws inspiration from different time periods and themes to show the vitality and richness of their works from several time frames.
- Sometimes, what Binds Also Chokes by Keith Farnsworth. 2013. This piece speaks volumes. It’s not all well when people are held together, sometimes they have to contend with serious problems within hat union. This piece speaks volumes.
- Luncheon on the Grass by Eduardo Manet, done in 1863 is one piece that I do not like. This is because it is too explicit and was done at a time when nudity and such explicitness was considered taboo and in some cultures to this day its taboo.
- Many artists draw inspiration from other artists in history. One such influential artist is Eduardo Manet, who inspires free thinking and freedom to explore new paths regardless of societal conventions.
Art is used to tell a story about social issues. The artists themselves always want to communicate something aside from entertaining their intended audiences. When these pieces are assembled in galleries, chances are that they will outlive the artists themselves and go on to tell a story. These are the stories that museum workers and everyone else who see them live to tell.
Many of these workers are well versed with the meanings and intended functions of each piece. They help visitors understand and know their origins and the artists. Museums are therefore very valuable when it comes to preserving pieces of art. These are the same pieces that our generation and future generations will learn from. The show was as informative as it was very entertaining.
