Last semester, I took Managerial Economics class, but unfortunately I missed the final exam and therefore I failed the module. I am writing to you to appeal for a retake of the Managerial Economics exam.
I was unable to take the exam as I had to unexpectedly fly back to China for my grandmother’s funeral. My grandmother was close to me, and to my whole family, and it would have been unacceptable for me to miss her funeral. The whole experience was traumatic but to have failed my module as a result of my grandmother’s death has been especially upsetting.
As you will see, I have passed all of my other modules throughout my course, and missing the exam for Managerial Economics was devastating but completely unavoidable. I believe that, given the opportunity, I would pass the supplementary exam and therefore graduate successfully from the module.
If I do not have the opportunity to pass this module I feel it will have a very negative impact both on my studies and on my future career goals. All of my plans for the future centre around this subject, and I am passionate about making a success of it. Additionally, I am struggling with the social implications of being unable to continue with my peers. If my classmates all progress and I do not, this will exclude me from our previously tight-knit group and could affect my college life as a whole. I am keen to maintain my position among my peers, as well as to succeed academically and to accomplish my goals.
Thank you very much for your time, and for considering my appeal. I hope to hear from you soon.
