Organization theories have changed a lot since their orientation in institutions. However, classic organizational theories are still being used regardless of the modernized theories established in this field. Classic organization theories form a platform on which other theories are based (Miner, 2007).

This is a public institution that has heavily borrowed from the Weber's classical bureaucratic theory. In the organization structure of this institution, there is the hierarchy of arrangement in all departments. Each department has specific duties but they are the control of the top administration (Deborah & Catherine, 2005). The top administration is given the duty of allocating and diving of powers within the institution. Leaders in the institution are also divided in career basis.
In the institution Taylor’s theory of organization management is also applied. In the institution the management believes more in the empowerment of the staff more than the supervisors or departmental heads. Tutors in this institution are given the attention they need to perform. Since it funded by the government, teachers have been given salaries assurance by their allegiance to unions.
The Brearley School, New York, NY
This is a private institution with a lot of value assets under its name. In this particular institution the management structure slightly resembles one by Weber. In the structure all departments are under a common authority which is the tip administration of the school. Each department is then assigned a leader that acts as a supervisor.
In regards to Taylor’s theory, the institution believes in performance after quality compensation of tutors (Miner, 2007). Every tutor is entitled to a basic salary. In additional to the basic salary there is an incentive given in terms of performance. Tutor who have performed exemplary are offered cash incentives or other leisure packages. In this arrangement, the staff becomes of more importance than the supervisors and administrators.
