I recommend that the first deliverable be centralizing medicine, food and other utilities procurements. This would help reduce the costs for the foster owners which would consequently encourage more people into taking up critters into their homes. The current global economic condition has reduced people’s disposable income and hence most feel the need to reduce their expenditure. This is why reduction of costs for the essentials required to maintain critters is important. This deliverable should be satisfied first as the success of other deliverables depends on whether the public will view fostering critters as an economic friendly activity.
This deliverable will help meet the strategic goal of reducing foods and medicines costs through the use of volume discounts. This is because centralizing of the procurement system reduces the cost incurred in making decentralized purchases. This deliverable also reduces other expenses such as the use of more employees for a decentralized system.
Critter Shelters Association, in its part of implementing this deliverable, will be required to create a framework for the actual centralization. This framework will be used as a supply chain for the food, medicine and other essentials for the critters. The board of trustees on its part will be required to provide administrative and strategic advice during the implementation of the deliverable. The public or the foster owners of the critters will need to spread the word amongst each other on the new procurement system and also to do the actual purchases from the system. These three stakeholders will each play an integral role in ensuring the success of the implementation of this deliverable and hence they should be monitored to ensure performance of their roles.
