Option 1
Write an essay to the dean of academic affairs about a problem at your school. Discuss both causes and effects to propose a solution to the problem. Use one well-respected and legitimate outside source to support your position.
Dear Sir,
I hereby write this letter to forward my concern about the problem at the school. This is an issue which I, together with my colleagues have discussed and have found that it must be addressed. I have talked with other students, as well. At least 90% concur that this problem must be addressed.
The problem is the lack of space in most lecture halls. It is a fact that this school has a large number of students. However, the space available is minimal. In fact, some students usually take their lessons standing up. They find very difficult to take notes. It discouraging sir that a school with such great resources and bright students has its own student learning standing up.
I have experienced this discomfort several times. In most occasions, because of one commitment or another, I have found myself arriving for a lecture five or ten minutes before it commences. Whenever this happened, I found no space to sit so as to learn. All the available space had been occupied. Therefore, if any student in this school wants to experience comfortable learning, he or she has to arrive at least thirty minutes to the beginning of the lecture. This is bad; I must agree. We have jobs and other commitments that may make us arrive five or ten minutes to the start of the lecture. This is not to say that we arrive for these lectures late. In fact, most of the students in the school are very punctual. However, there is the lack of space to sit. The lecture halls are cramped up, and there is no space even of one carries his or her chair.
