Annual HIV Marathon Set for Dec 1 in New York City, Features a Forty Two Kilometer Run to Raise Money for HIV Research
NEW YORK, March 10, 2014- The creating leaders in the New York’s mayor’s office announce that the annual HIV marathon event will be held in the city on December 1, 2014. George Washington organized the event. He has headed organizatio of the event since its inception 8 years ago.
Washington, while advancing his prospects of reducing HIV and AIDS infections and creating the biggest marathon event, hopes to raise money from registration fees collected during the event. “I invite all sports enthusiasts and philanthropists to join me on Dec 15 in New York. You will experience firsthand the excitement of using athletics to raise money for a positive cause,” said Washington.
The marathon is poised to become the biggest racing event to be held in the city with a record 50000 people expected to attend. Washington has been featured on CNN’s Pacemakers edition for being one of the best marathon organizers regionally.
Washington invites major corporations, community members and professional athletes to show their support by participating in the event and to demonstrate the importance of providing continuous support for HIV research. “Participating in this event will not only be fun since the track will pass through the city’s serene areas, but will impact positively towards the eradication of HIV and AIDs,” commented Washington.

On December 1, during the World’s AIDS day, 50,000 people will make history by attending the participating in a marathon organized by the mayor.
It will be the first time in the city’s history that such a large number of people will be participating in the marathon led by the city’s mayor. Such a large number of people have never participated in single marathon event making this a record breaking activity. Money will be collected during the marathon through competition entry fees and all the proceeds will be used to fund HIV and AIDS research
The runners will cover forty two kilometers and the track will navigate through the city’s serene and attractive sites. The crowd will have the opportunity to cheer their favorite’s athletes while standing on the sides of the track. Those who are not able to run will participate in any other fun activities.
George Washington, the mayor of the town will be around to launch and participate in the event. George has always organized the marathon event since its inception when less than 5,000 people attended. One of the most successful marathon event organizer in the country, he is now celebrated all over the region. He was recently featured on Pacemakers edition on CNN. He will give the keynote speech and will be available to discuss the marathon event and his role as the organizer.
