According to Gottleib (2013), the major difference between mission and vision is that a vision manifests a vision of the future, while a mission addresses the way the vision is turned into an action. My mission can be formulated as “conducting international management tasks with exemplary quality and integrity”.
The mission helps me realize my professional vision that can be formulated as follows. In the future I “seek to promote overall welfare, the development of national economy and intercultural conciliation through international management.
My major strengths are derived from my developed organizational and communication skills. First of all, I am a strong and thorough strategic planner, always capable of distinguishing potential challenges and the ways to handle them. Secondly, I am a good listener. I can listen for a long time without interrupting and always able to empathize. Thirdly, I am good at negotiating and persuading. My most important weakness is that I am not always able to estimate the workload I have and, thus, sometimes suffer from excessive work and tiredness. Secondly, I can be too intrusive, if I am confident that my position is right. Finally, it is hard for me to communicate with individuals, who are too slow and reluctant to complete their work duties.
Successful management of business means that one takes into account the peculiarities of external, industry and internal environments (Ahlston&Bruton, 2009, p.105). When being, an international manager, I will pay my attention to three major factors of external environment. Firstly, I will continuously monitor the political and legal environment in a given country. Secondly, I will always try to consider environmental factors, especially in relation to a company’s corporate social responsibility. Finally, as modern business highly depends on intercultural communication, I will continuously improve my intercultural skills.
