Ireland’s hospitality industry offers lots of choices to its tourists that mostly depend on the amount they are willing to pay for their stay. The majority of them is located in Dublin, the capital of Ireland, that indeed is a quite small city compared to other European capitals. People of different budget come to feel the charming atmosphere created by bagpipes and taste a true Irish coffee. As N. Hegarty (2015) notes, “Dublin may not have been known for its food culture, but increasingly today it's possible to sample excellent local produce and drink a cup of wonderful coffee as well as the traditional pint of stout.”
Therefore, building large five-star or four-star resort hotels are economically unreasonable. They will be located outside the city and will cost a lot, so that tourists will pay much but see less. At the same time, hostels and 1-2 star hotels are also not a good option because Ireland is visited by the retired people as much as by the youth. The latter may enjoy short stays in hostels, while the elderly would prefer more comfortable conditions.
Consequently, according to TripAdviser Reviews, 3 star hotel that can be located in the vicinities of the center of Dublin is a perfect project to invest money in. It can be small, but occupy very good position in terms of sightseeing and places of interest. Moreover, its price can be made affordable to different social groups of people. The idea is to economize space and funds by providing people with a unique opportunity to spend their money on other things. From the building company’s perspective, building 3-star hotel is faster and easier. It can also be a restoration of a purchased building in the center (Cassidys Hotel, n.d.).
However, there are lots of already available options of 3-star hotels in Dublin, an interesting concept or some unique set of services may provide a solid competitive advantage, and thus popularity and profits.
