As a student, it is better to look at myself in order to gauge the opportunities, strengths, weaknesses and threats that can bar me from achieving my well defined academic goals. Definitely, I am committed to whatever I do. I have made great success in my studies due to the fact that I’ always well prepared, put more efforts, study right, plan my revisions properly, respect my instructors and prioritize my weak areas. Most importantly, I work in a consultation of my colleagues and the instructors. This has actually made me to understand the otherwise difficult subjects. However, I have not been able to produce excellent results due to the fact that I have bad friends who usually compel me to deviate from hard work. This is my weakness that if I refrain from, I will be able to be the best.
Of course, for me to excel in my studies, I need to work in a harmony with my parents, colleagues and teachers. All these have a very significant role to play in my student life. While my parents pay my school fees, my teacher have a responsibility to see me succeed. This can be done through the use of better teaching strategies, motivation, use of reinforcements, constant formative and summative evaluations, revisions, use of assignments, organization of learners into discussion groups and constant advisory sessions. Besides, my instructor can improve my performance by organizing for field trips and invitation of resource persons to give us tips on how to better ourselves.
In conclusion, I would like to assert that it is paramount for a learner to understand themselves. This will make one to understand one’s weaknesses and improve on them.
