Questions
1) What do you expect/hope for in an intimate relationship?
For some people, intimacy is physical in nature, but for me intimacy crosses the physical threshold and emotional embrace is an essential aspect. There is nothing better to know that you always have the support of another individual, and feeling protected in the presence of another person. Intimacy is experienced when two individuals are not only physically involved with each other, but they also feel emotional attachment and difficulty in staying apart from each other. Intimate relationship is one where two individuals can’t imagine a life without the other person. Physical compatibility is also an important part of being in an intimate relationship, as in the long term physical satisfaction can spell the end of a relationship. Overall, an intimate relationship is a perfect combination of physical and emotional factors.
2) How do you think about being an ethical consumer? How are you supported or constrained in this?
I do not believe that I am a highly ethical consumer, although there are some ways I am playing my part. It is clear in my mind that I would never buy a blood diamond or stay away from animal skin based products. But, in some ways my hands are constrained as I am aware that several products that are sold in the market have some form of cruelty attached with it. For example, some companies use child labour to prepare their shoes and other products. Also, there are no ways to ensure that every product we purchase from brands is prepared in a fair manner or organic in nature. I have stayed away from purchasing cars that pollute our environment, but I still take cabs that pollute our environment. Therefore, there is a filter as I do my best to be an ethical consumer, but there are some limits that I cannot overcome.
