In the video titled Case 2: Mr. Rosario, four health professionals gathered for a team meeting. A successful meeting begins with a clear agenda. When making an agenda, it is essential to start with the urgent topics first. Also included on the agenda are the following – purpose, points to discuss, presenter, the time allotted, and everything else that the participants have to discuss.
1In the meeting, the four health professionals are seated facing each other. Hence, everyone can see the person speaking. In addition, the structure suggests equal footing. A meeting must have a presider and such is something missing. But I believe, the one presiding the meeting was Ms. Brown. 2There lacks organization in the group. No roles, timelines, or responsibilities were assigned. One speaks whenever he/she wishes. Moreover, it appears that there were so many interruptions and disruptions. 3Verbally, everyone was straightforward. Non-verbally, it seems that the whites looked at each other when Ms. Brown was talking. It wasn’t a typical looking act but a kind of look that wants to tell Ms. Brown she’s too proud. 4There was no involvement of the family in the care planning process. The focus of the meeting was solely on Mr. Rosario. 5Conflict in the team happened when Ms. Thomas was reading the case of Mr. Rosario and Ms. Rogers interrupted by saying that if everything is normal with Mr. Rosario, there is no use of discussing the patient’s condition. Ms. Thomas asserted that Ms. Rogers should give the same attention and respect that Ms. Thomas rendered when she was presenting. Thomas also asserted that the case must be discussed to remedy any future incident. Another conflict happened during the discussion of the medication rendered. Simon suggested that the drug being administered is not as viable as it may seem. There were instances that the team members go off topic.
