The inputs of the Technology vary amongst the industries. The question is does the health care industry fares the competition, and also to look out how technology in the health care sector be effectively used.
It is clear that we have best of doctors, hospitals and medical technology in the world. The country spends major of its fair share on any other sector then healthcare. The clash is that we do not deliver that sort of quality to our citizens despite of the fact to have hi-end technology. However; for variety of reasons healthcare providers are not able to fully embrace this technology.
The reason is the restraining costs. Some experts have noted the high implementation costs deter providers especially those with small practises. This factor refrain them from implementing new technologies. Additionally; other surveys suggested that implementing health technology system may hinder patients care at least initially. In either of cases, the question remains that how to facilitate the adoption of technology in healthcare?
Despite the potential push, the adoption of technology systems in health care has been slow. As per the clinical information, the majority of them remain on paper than on computers. Recent study has shown that only 15% of hospitals and health care providers have completely implemented new technology systems. Obviously; it is not a good scenario to be proud about.
At the national level, there were quite a promotions carried to established and promote health IT and to meet the goals. However; the funding for this federal government lags behind spending for the health care in the country. In order to overcome several obstacles, firstly the Federal government should try to rope in as many health sectors as possible. Promote health IT systems and make all these available at inexpensive rates so that they are widely put to practice by all sort of health care professionals.
