I completely agree with the results of my colleague’s research. The importance of qualitative inquiry methods and its contribution to nursing practice are irrefutable. In quite a number of cases, qualitative methods provide the opportunities to investigate the state of health and maintain patient’s life. In witness of my colleague’s discussion, that demonstrates the key features of qualitative studies as subjectivity, the impossibility of precision data measurement, socially and individually orientation, and close connection with quantitative or empirical methods, qualitative analysis in nursing provides researchers with significant information necessary for an appropriate health care (Ingham-Broomfield, 2014). When distinguishing between qualitative and empirical methods, qualitative analysis based on behavioral and social approaches of discovering human behavior and psychology, and the empirical methods refer to scientific approaches. The researchers attempting to receive the most obvious diagnosis and a clear vision of medical aid appreciate the contribution of qualitative methods to practice-based evidence. The data received from qualitative research methods as different types of interviews (individual questioning of patients, telephone interviews, group and focus group interviews (Jirojwong, Johnson & Welch, 2014), observation, and testing allows to maintain the empirical analysis and supplement it with an additional extensive information of patient’s life experience, previous diseases or probably inherited diseases. The simple question “How do you feel?” and the answers permit to evaluate the current state and further implement the variety of medical care methods. Specific findings of qualitative surveys definitely cannot be the solid basis for nursing diagnostic due to the fact of subjectivism and holistic approach, however, the qualitative methodology applied in addition to quantitative analysis brings the understanding of further nursing care and clinical practices.
