Thesis statement: In today’s fast-developing world people cannot avoid being influenced by the media. Support: We are surrounded by media wherever we decide to go, be it supermarket, theater, café or any other place, as even at home we are influenced by it when watching television or reading a newspaper. This situation has a clear foundation – our people have put considerable effort into this sphere, which is why we have created such environment ourselves. It can also be visible in the recent rise in violence, which can be explained by cruel video games and TV shows.
Education
Thesis statement: Declaration of “No Child Left Behind” has changed the approach and understanding of education for many people, bringing about many changes in our society. Support: Today Americans started looking for proper motivation to every child who needs it; they try to find the ways to help those needing differentiated instruction as well. Besides, they try to alleviate cheating in schools and find a way to reduce violence so as to make school life safer and effective for children’s education. As today immigration is on increase, it became important to provide high-quality level of bilingual education, which is why teachers start receiving additional training in this field and now it is possible to provide such level of education to the American immigrants.
Science
Thesis statement: The important role of science cannot be denied today, although there is always someone to question its influence on people. Support: Scientists are used to critical expressions in their address, as throughout the whole history all the inventions passed the stage of active critique and only after some time they were accepted and properly evaluated. Science is extremely important for us, as with its help it is possible to find ways out of many problems we have in different spheres of life, such as finding cures of illnesses or invention of convenient means of communication. The fact that science has its influence in such important issues as pondering the future of the American space problem is another support for my thesis.
The Rise of the Internet
Thesis statement: Today Internet has changed our life considerably, bringing the opportunities that were previously not known and even hard to imagine, but which made our lives better and easier. Support: One of the first and most evident changes is the one that happened in communication: today it became very easy to communicate with people at large distances and even lead an active virtual life with the help of numerous social networks. It also enhanced the ways, in which education can be obtained, providing opportunities for distant learning, owing to which high-quality education can be pursued, even if there is no opportunity to go to the other country. Faces of television and music have also changed along with the iTunes development.
