The bibliographic methods were used to describe the evolution of the publication activities, most prominent authors, research methodologies, and content of themes for research . The analysis provided an avenue for future research in the field of family business.
In the current project, the research papers from business, business finance, economics and management of social science citation index for 1961-2008 period categories were only considered for the research study. The inclusion of additional categories could have added to the authenticity of the data and the depth of analysis. Additionally, each article was signed by several authors from different countries and therefore the sum of articles published by each country was though found to be larger than the total number of articles actually published. Ideally, this could have been balanced by identifying the same research articles that were included for different countries. Also, a proportionate sample size should have been selected for each subject domain to prevent a bias on the domain topics selected for the current research study.
Particular Parties involved in the research that could face injury
Unethical behavior in this research affect the organization, the individual, and society
The unethical behavior in this research would yield an unbalanced output that yields the data for the business articles contributed by the different authors from different countries that makes the same article counted for the different countries. Such a duplication of data has contributed significantly to the inaccuracy of the number of articles effectively published by the authors of different countries and thus presents a false view to the readers and the society at large about the performance of the various countries involved in the field of family business research.
The sample size selected for each particular topic within family business research should have been pre-determined and fixed in each case. Such a strategy should have prevented any bias or dominance of a particular area or industry in the field of family business research.
How could the unethical behavior be monitored or resolved if found to be occurring
The unethical behavior could be monitored and resolved effectively by the validation and screening of the research literature data to identify and correlate the articles with their authors and country of origins. Such a correlation should have contributed in the identification of the common articles in the various countries list and could have also facilitated the data duplication for the various countries and would have yielded more accurate results for the current research.
