I believe that there are levels of morality in the concept of euthanasia. It has become quite a controversial subject over the years. However, nobody seems to agree on its morality. Some argue that it is unmoral and certainly should be illegal because it brings about the death of another human being. On the other hand, some insist that fulfilling the wishes of dying individuals is much more moral than forcing them to stay physically alive while they are mentally or otherwise dead. Of course, it depends on the circumstances, as no two situations are the same when it comes to euthanasia. We can look into several cases, but in my opinion, it should remain the choice of the individual, in only dire cases. This should not become an excuse to take one's own life, or to convince others to assist one in suicide. This is, as I see it, the biggest risk.
It is especially important for the individual to desire it, especially when it comes to thinking about its morality. However, in some cases, the individual is not conscious enough to make a decision or to even think about it. Therefore, those people would to desire voluntarily euthanasia, but could argue that it is still moral, if those individuals have expressly declared it previously. Of course, this can be open to debate. It is not always important to grant all of the wishes and desires of individuals, because this could lead to an excessive rise in number of needless deaths. In my opinion, euthanasia should only be considered legal and moral when in extreme cases. My conclusion is mostly based on the morality of the issue, because the legality does not necessarily reflect the morality.
