Website design is an important aspect of developing a website that is user friendly and draws the attention of those who access the site. If the website that you create does not function properly or keep viewers on the page for an adequate amount of time before they click away, then the page will not be effective in any way. A number of different parts of website design are needed to build an effective webpage and this memo will detail those areas in reference to the same pages given.
A Special Report: Living Healthy
The first thing that I noticed with this website is the Intra – aspects of design when it pertains to the font used. The font for this page was very clear and easy to read. Many websites use the wrong font and color scheme which makes the page difficult to read, but this website does not make that mistake. While the page doesn’t use any graphs or charts to assist the content, all of the words are easy to read which will encourage the reader to complete the whole document.
The main issue that I have with this webpage is the use of white space. The green blocks that are included at the bottom of each of the columns seem like nothing more than just fillers. Instead of going this route, I believe that it would have been more effective if the creator would have developed some sort of graphics to go along with the information in the text. It would have been more visually stimulating if the website would have included graphs or charts as proof to back up the argument that is presented in the case.
A Special Bulletin: Living Healthy
The first thing that stood out was the way that this webpage uses its white space. While it does a good job in making sure the content is supported visually, I believe that it has too many different eye catchers throughout the page and this will detract from the content present. Second, the font that is used on the second website is difficult to read in comparison to the first. Both of these factors would cause me to lean towards grading the first website as more effective and a better example of website design.
