Almost everyone in the world knows something about the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Broadway, and Shubert alley. The state of New York is full of magnificent places that are famous all over the world and captivate millions of tourists each year. However, it is full of beautiful places that are unknown to everyone but people, who actually live in New York. Now we are going to talk about some of them.
The first ‘local’ famous place from our list is Sonnenberg Gardens. This fifty-acre domain is one of the most picturesque places in New York, which is situated in Ontario County city, Canandaigua (Zimmer, 2015). Sonnenberg estate was created by a couple, which lived in 19th century, as their summer house. It is full of beautiful architecture, statues, and themed gardens, which makes it a nice place for a walk and family picnics.
The second magnificent and magical place is Eternal Flame Falls, which is situated in Erie County. The peculiar name was taken from a flame that appears because of gas emission (Zimmer, 2015). It is created under the ecological niche, which helps water to fall over the flame. If you decide to reach Eternal Flame Falls and there will be no fire, do not worry, just come to the place that smells like rotten eggs, and use a lighter.
The last place of interest, we are going to share with you, is the World Trade Center Sphere, the one that stood between the legendary Twin Towers. After the terrorist attacks in 2001, the 25 feet metallic statue remained undestroyed and was moved to Battery Park as the symbol of that tragic catastrophe. The sculpture also serves as the memorial to the victims of the attack that is why it was fixed with an eternal flame.
