Personal statement:
After working with the local community service for six months, I have learnt the virtue of dedication and commitment to success. The long hours of hard work were a necessity to inculcate patience into my goodwill. The ideals of the association endeared me to the multitude of people that came my way quite often. The work at the community centre was demanding owing to the diverse cultural backgrounds of many participants. The language and cultural affiliations endowed me with an ability to handle and appreciate people from diverse cultures, races, and nationalities. In the process of my studies in High School, I had a chance to lead my fellow students in sports. Sporting activities in schools are involving. The nature of student participation and constant monitoring fell within my capacity. This became a challenge. The dominant factor that curtailed my effective monitoring emanated from my role as a player in the basketball team. The challenge came from the requirement to multitask in the team and the overall sporting activities. I had to forgo my sporting pleasures several times to attend to crucial casualties and programs. This became a challenge due to my capacity as an active student in class and the field. To counter this challenge, I formed a group of lifesaver students. The main function of the task force focused on immediate casualties in the playing field. The composition of the taskforce included flexible players from each field of sporting activity. I believe that as a student in the pursuit of knowledge, my chief objective is to acknowledge the values of scholarly disciplines. Education to me is an avenue to eradicate egocentric tendencies in life.
