1. A game of cricket consists of two teams with ten players each. Normally, a side goes in the field to bat and the other bowls. The pitch includes a wicket and each game has a number of overs where six balls are bowled at the batter who stands before the wicket.
2. Each time the batsman hits the ball and runs between the wickets, runs are scored. Eventually when the ball is batted by the batsman and is caught by the opposing team’s fielder, a wicket is lost and the batsman is called out.
The game goes on in that manner until all batsmen are out when teams switch sides and the roles are reversed. The team which manages to score the most runs eventually wins. Usually games last for 50 overs or 300 balls but in five day test matches, the amount of overs is much larger and huge innings are achieved.
The game of cricket is extremely popular in several former British colonies and is the national sport in several of them. It is a genteel game played by a certain class of society and is also very snobbish in a sense that clubs do not usually accept every person as a member.
