Introduction
Healthcare has been and will always be a part of a well-growing and elite society. In fact, it is not only a requirement but a necessity for all. And unfortunately, there are a lot of different cultures and religious affiliations today which significantly limits the maximum benefit that they could get from the general effects of a decentralized healthcare system. What these people from unusual origins and beliefs would need is rather a customized type of healthcare because aiming to deliver non-customized healthcare for them will inevitably cause conflicts of interest and beliefs between them and the healthcare provider at some point. This is another reason why even in developed countries like the United States, healthcare-specific issues are still being raised. According to the New York Times (2010), the healthcare overhaul which was approved last 2010 were far from perfect and is such a disgrace. So what does this have to do with healthcare? This basically means that even with a highly prosperous economy, 1st world countries still tend to find difficulties in addressing their healthcare needs.
Nation of Yahweh
1. What is your spiritual perspective on healing?
Fur us, healthcare is not really a necessity. We could live by and get away with our life without relying on it. I’ve seen these practices going on for many years already. On the other hand, there are also some members of our religious group who cannot rely on our prayers and rituals, they go to hospitals and seek medications.
2. What are the critical components of healing, such as prayer, meditation, belief?
Whenever I get sick, my parents do not usually send me to the hospital and let the doctors check my condition. What we usually do is we wait before the pain and the symptoms of my sickness wears out, and then we pray.
3. What is important for people of a particular faith when cared for by healthcare providers whose spiritual beliefs differ from their own?
For me, the most important thing if ever I will be cared for in a hospital is a familiarized patient service. I want to feel as if I am the only patient in that hospital. Unfortunately, my affiliation with my religion will not allow me to experience that at all.
4. How do patients view health care providers who are able to let go of their own beliefs in the interest of the beliefs and practices of the patient? Compare this belief to the Christian philosophy of faith and healing.
It takes a lot of effort and a great mind setting ability from the practitioner’s part to let go of their beliefs for the sake of being able to treat the conditions of their patients with an unusual belief. Christians are usually willing to give up some of their beliefs in exchange for a high quality treatment for their patients.
The Church of Euthanasia
1. What is your spiritual perspective on healing?
Healing for me is our religion’s number one enemy. Hospitals and medical clinics are what make people live longer and the longer people live, the more our planet will be devastated.
2. What are the critical components of healing, such as prayer, meditation, belief?
Based on what I’ve said on your previous question, healing is one of our enemies and it prevents us from reaching our vision.
3. What is important for people of a particular faith when cared for by healthcare providers whose spiritual beliefs differ from their own?
Healthcare providers cannot really do what you are saying. Who do you think would sacrifice their faith and practices just to give what their patients are asking from them? Nevertheless, maybe it would be important if that healthcare provider could just ignore his beliefs for his patient.
4. How do patients view health care providers who are able to let go of their own beliefs in the interest of the beliefs and practices of the patient? Compare this belief to the Christian philosophy of faith and healing.
It does not really matter that much whether there are healthcare providers who are able to sacrifice their beliefs for their patients but for me. Christians for me are nothing without the medical interventions that help them get better from diseases. It would be better if they will just lye and wait for their lives to be taken without any intervention.
Nuwaubians
1. What is your spiritual perspective on healing?
People including our babies, need to undergo proper medication and healthcare for them to recover from the diseases that are rather common these days.
2. What are the critical components of healing, such as prayer, meditation, belief?
Just like other people, we need healthcare too—we cannot deny that fact. What we are most concerned at are matters concerning the white people. We are not really racists; it’s just that we believe in a certain prophecy that white people are really made to be our slaves.
3. What is important for people of a particular faith when cared for by healthcare providers whose spiritual beliefs differ from their own?
For me—this is my own opinion, it would be nice if healthcare providers will be able to do that. It’s important for healthcare providers to be culturally competent at the very least you know.
4. How do patients view health care providers who are able to let go of their own beliefs in the interest of the beliefs and practices of the patient? Compare this belief to the Christian philosophy of faith and healing.
Our philosophy and of faith and healing are not really that different with that of the Christians. In fact, they are very much related and we do appreciate healthcare providers who would be willing to serve us despite the gap between our beliefs.
Summary
In summary, the three religions can be analogized into three subcategories. The nation of Yahweh, Nuwaubians, and the church of euthanasia can be described as mild, moderate and extreme groups that try to deprive themselves of healthcare respectively.
