Hong Kong Disneyland resort is known for its attractions, all year round seasonal offerings and shows. However, recently, there are a number of incidents which takes away this beauty.
Today, at 8.00 pm a young child was hit by a moving trolley on Main Street. Our staff responded swiftly to this incident by clearing the area and informing the paramedics of this incident. In doing this, our HKD staff followed all the safety measures which have recently been put in place to curb these kinds of incidents. Nevertheless, the child died in the hospital due to complications from her injuries while receiving treatment.
The crews who were tasked with the investigations of the safety of the trolley reported that the trolley was in working order with good breaks, track and gears. Instead, the eye witnesses accounts revealed that at the time of the incident, the child was unattended. This incident has brought back memories of the past ugly scenes.
However, today’s incident is different; it has left the entire world and Walt Disney Company in shock. Everyone is wondering whether Walt Disney Company will stop these incidents. Besides, it has raised the guests concerns on whether the company has an outlined strategy which can proudly be pointed out to assure children safety.
Indeed, in the light of today’s incident, all the strategies put in place to curb this kind of incidents seemingly have failed and the company needs to look for better strategies. Nevertheless, whichever strategy that the company has put in place, the parents bear the biggest responsibility of ensuring that their children are in the right place. This is the number one way of ensuring the child’s safety. In fact, it is the right of the child to be protected by the parent or guardian.
