Introduction
Since I joined the English class, I have really improved in my writing. My perception that writing was all about grammar has now changed and my writing skills now include other literal devices that make an easy attractive, well arranged and easy to follow. There are papers that I am about to turn in and this papers are; Literacy Narrative, Website Text Analysis, and Evaluation Essay. I had already written the drafts to these papers but after attending the English class on essay writing, I endeavor to make the following changes.
The literacy easy required each of us to turn in a paper that discussed the level of literacy in one of the countries. The topics that I had chosen in this easy were the factors that affect the level of literacy, the state of level of literacy in the country, the foreseeable changes in the level of literacy and the recommendations in improving the level of literacy. After attending the English class, I have come to understand the need of flow of ideas in an essay. This has made me to think of rearranging the topics that I have noted above in the final draft that I about to submit. There are two types of narratives that a person can have either back to front narrative style or front to back narrative style. I had mixed the two styles in my easy and this I came to realize might reduce my grade. Thus, the new paper will start with an introduction, then the state of literacy. Other topics will follow as stated above.
Website Text Analysis
In the paper that I had done about a website text analysis, I had included a review of the chapters in the book, the usability of the website text and also the accessibility. After attending the English class, I came to learn about the difference in referencing the website text and normal texts. Referencing of website texts included citation of links or the URL address for the text. In my former draft, I had referenced the text just like a normal text. The biggest challenge was that the text that I was analyzing had limited access with some pages being omitted in the web edition. Also, web searches provided me with identical results for the same book. I have to specify the edition of the text that I intended to analyze to get the book. In our English class, the lecturer had insisted on ensuring that citations made refer to the edition quoted in the final draft.
Evaluation Essay
An evaluation essay that we had been requested to write involved evaluating the work of fellow students according to the works that we had already learnt in class. The evaluation easy included almost all the aspects of writing. The most challenging part was to quote the phrases that had errors while the final draft was expected to be free of errors. Through my skills that I attained from the English class, I was able to make good use of quotation marks. The skills about citation styles especially MLA citing styles were useful in making direct citation in such instances yet maintaining my easy without errors. In my draft, I had quoted without use of quotation marks.
Conclusion
The above changes reflect on the various operations that I have leant in the English class on essay writing. The presentation of my future essays must put into considerations all the features that I made changes about in my essays; referencing styles, specific editions, flow of information, use of search tools, choice of narrative format, among other operation that I learnt in class.
