Ender's Game is a novel written by an American author called Orson Scott Card in the year 1985. It is a science fiction in the military because it tells about imaginary future reality offering the reader an unprejudiced point of view on the condition of human beings. The story presents a combination of the modern technology in connection to today's world, in an innovative manner. The book fits very well in science fiction literature. It is very easy to understand the book because it captures major elements of strategic leadership and combat to make a commander in the battlefield effective against a force from the enemy. The name of the commander is Ender who undergoes training in challenging moments where there is no gravity and his genius tactics come into a revelation. Use of antigravity devices is clear in the story because training took place in places without gravity and this increased maneuvering of long distances in the space (Seed 6, Ch. 1).
During his fight with a fellow student by the name Stilson, he wound the latter that was stronger, but did not recognize that he had wound him. He told IF Colonel while explaining his did that he showed his superiority and believed that that was a prevention measure of future struggle. On hearing what Ender said, Graff offered him a place in the school of Battle whose location was Earth's orbit and isolated him from other cadets. Spaceship is an image of science fiction; moreover, Battle school that Ender attended was located on the earth's orbit (Seed 6, Ch.1). However, he encouraged him to go on with training although Valentine, Ender's sister frustrated him through her communications.
The story occurs in planet earth in the future. There is an alien species by the name Buggers, and they attack the planet twice almost causing destruction to the human race. Science fiction uses aliens to portray a social identity of some different form of people who do not exist. The author uses aliens, such as Ender and his family, who are foreign beings from another planet who attack human beings in earth almost causing destruction (Seed 27, Ch. 2). In response to the attacks, mankind started training young geniuses to become commanders and soldiers to the defense the earth in case the Buggers attack in the future. Ender was a genius who was unique and above the intelligence level of all the other children in his school. Under Commander Bonzo in Salamander Army, Ender was not allowed to participate in any battle. However Petra Arkanian helped him learn elementary combat skills. Bonzo transferred Ender to Rat army positioned in Dink Meeker's platoon (Card 100). Fantasy Game was a very complex computer game in the system of the school's computer system that monitored Ender's psychological development (Card 87).
Ender's brother Peter and Sister Valentine continued living their lives uniquely. They integrated themselves in political discussions on the news net that is just like today's internet. From their activity, they earned themselves respect from the global community by presenting an analysis of insightful politics. The two adopted personas of Demosthenes and Locke whereby Peter became Locke representing a passive compromise-oriented writer and Valentine became represented a rabble rouser forced to write Demosthenes. Having the two different personas helped them obtain a status quo globally. Similarly, in today's world people are using the internet to expose their work globally and acquired popularity.
Ender did several interesting things to ensure that no enemy was in a position to strike back. He learned more war tactics from the soldiers from the enemy side and did innovation accordingly to help him win the battle (Card 262). He reshuffled the layout of his soldiers and allowed his platoon leaders to have a greater latitude amount. He taught his soldiers to use human shields and other extra tools and portrayed unorthodox methods. Comparing with the real army today, they use the same tactics when undertaking their war missions and the means of prevention they use to orient themselves through training on how to overcome strategies and systems applied by individuals during the war. There was a time when Ender went against the rules laid down on how soldiers should conduct themselves during the war in order to win the battle (Card 293).
