The message that the movie is driving home is that the free market is a hub of corruption. The movie also points out that regulation is necessary to wipe out dishonest tendencies. Throughout the echelons of history, research has shown that markets operate well when there are no regulations. Markets should be self-regulatory to the extent that the principles of demand and supply should take courses. When markets are regulated, it makes it possible for other forces to invade the space and introduce some unwarranted tendencies. Governments are sometimes key suspects in so far as market regulation is concerned. When governments regulate the markets, political games begin to play out. The executive wing, which is largely political, tries to introduce measures that largely favor their supporters.

The Rank and Yank model is a model is where workers of a particular company are ranked based on their production capacities. Each company has a benchmark over which ranking is done for every production unit. Based on the criteria used, some employees are shade off and seize from being employees. The criteria could mean that those appearing in the last 15 or 20% of the category are relieved of their duties. Ranking is done in sections to the extent that there are those at the top and may only count for 5%. Those at the middle level of ranking may only be about 75%. This may not be the best approach to ensure organizational success, but it is essential in keeping the most productive employees. While the ranking of employees is a classic idea, sending low ranking employee parking is unethical. Companies should device means and ways to ensure that low ranking workers have their capacities enhanced for the betterment of the company.
