Introduction
Lion king is a musical theatre play produced by Disney Film Company in 1994.this was the original play that was produced by Disney Film Company; however, there was a screenplay version of it that was later released by the same company. Therefore, I agree that the original version released in 1994 was theatrical.
Secondly, the way the original play was written describes the whole play and justifies the point that it is a theatrical play. The play style of writing involves a prologue, act one, and act two and for that reason it justifies the point that it is theatrical (Farndon 2000 p.138). A theatre play has prologue and acts while cinematic play consist preview and scenes.
Thirdly, lion king is much of exaggeration reason being in a theatre play casts have to exaggerate their acts in order for the audience can connect with the play. The play is a story of animals that but it was acted humans. This human over express how animal behave reason being to make the audience connect with the play
Finally, the play was unreal and melodramatic acting that was unrevealing to the actual real animals (Rosenthal 1972 p.214). For example in act two where samba is recalls a special promise that musafa made that she will always be there with him. How can an animal recall on a promise that was made by a fellow animal?
