One Sunday afternoon while I was relaxing and listening to some soft music, I heard a loud scream from the living room. I hurriedly jumped out of my bed and run towards the living room only to find my mother writhing in pain. In fact, blood was oozing out of her forehead. I was shell-shocked. At that moment, I reflected on the important role that she had played in my life as well as the numerous conflicts that arose between us.
She gained some strength and requested me to help her stand up. I yielded to her calls, and moved forward and pulled her up. She informed that that she slipped and hit her head on the on the side of that table and fell on the ground. My father was not available; therefore, I had to administer first aid. I helped her sit on the chair and proceeded to get the first aid kit from her bedroom. All these time, I was very anxious. I thought that she might have some major complications. Nonetheless, I came back to the living room and quickly nursed her wound. While reflecting on her condition, I asked her whether we could visit a doctor but she insisted that all was well and I should not be worried. All along, she kept insisting that I had to create time to dead for my forthcoming examinations. I was overwhelmed by her concerns and tears rolled down my chubby chicks. At that moment, I realized that a mother’s love is unconditional. They always mind about their children’s well-being, regardless of the challenges and tribulations that they are going through. Additionally, they are ready to sacrifice everything to ensure that their children are happy.
Since I cared for the health of my mother, I told her that all will be fine with me because I had revised for the exam earlier during the day. As a result, she allowed me to accompany her to the doctor. The doctor observed her and recommended some medication to enhance her speedy recovery. Thankfully, the wound was not that deep. As we came back from the doctor’s visit, I accompanied her to the room and made her lie down on the bed to rest. “Please relax for the night, mom,” I quipped, as I saw tears roll down her cheeks. “Thanks. Please go and prepare yourself for the examinations” she replied. I gave her a hearty smile and left the room. I called on her after a couple of hours to confirm that she was fine. I prepared the dinner that day, and we ate together at the dinner table. I hardly got time to have dinner with my parents because most of the time I was busy and they were also busy undertaking their day-to-day job responsibilities. However, as I sat at the dinner table with my mother, I felt nice being there.
In most instances, people pay little or no attention to the things that matter to them. However, accidents, as well as other grave calamities, enable them to realise the importance of caring for their important family members and friends. For example, when my mother was involved in an accident, I realized the importance of appreciating people all times. Additionally, I learned that a mother’s love is unconditional, and the needs of their children come first before anything else. For instance, my mother was worried about my examination despite the fact she was not feeling well.
