At this stage of my life, my biggest dream is to graduate with a bachelor degree honors in computer science from the prestigious Kentucky State University, and return to my home country Saudi Arabia where I hope to secure a well-paying job. I still hold fond memories of my home country having spent my childhood early years there. I am used to the custom and cultural practices that differ greatly with the one am currently experiencing in the USA. I remember growing up in Saudi Arabia, the society comprised of religious and strong social units. Both members of my nuclear and the extended family were very close unlike the case back here in the United States.
Presently, am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in computer science at the Kentucky State University in the United States of America. To some extent, I must admit that I have experienced first-hand racism because I am a Muslim from the Middle East. However, this has not deterred me from focusing on my objective of graduating successfully. I undertake my studies seriously and am constantly working hard to meet my course objectives each semester. I also love the town that am living in. The population comprises mainly of Caucasians with a few blacks. The State has lesser stringent rules compared to my home country. There is freedom of religion and nuclear families hold closer ties than the extended family units. The community is friendly and each year, festivities such as the Kentucky Shakespeare festival are held for all to attend.
After my graduation, am planning to go back to my home country and apply the skills that I have acquired to help me transform my community and the greater Saudi society to greater economic heights. Having attended a prestigious college, my prayer is that I will be able to secure a well-paying job so that I would be able to fend for my immediate and extended family. This will be of utmost importance because my family has invested a fortune to ensure that I attain quality education in the developed world part of the world.
