Perseverance can be considered to be a most crucial element for success in every sphere of life (Frank et al. 2005). Frank et al. (2005) refers to perseverance as carrying on efforts unto success without being halted by opposing forces. When it comes to study, perseverance means continuing studying without being stopped by failure in exams or complications that come with study. The student’s ability to stick to their goals with hard work and effort that is required has a lot to do with accomplishments than to getting to a highly ranked university. Arguably, children can not learn the art of perseverance all by themselves. Teachers have a great influence on the value of the students whether by hard work or in attaining a perfect grade. For a student to do well in studies he must study regularly, make studying a habit and have perseverance. In keeping with Frank et al. (2005), study is very critical to a student’s life. This essay is clear on how to students develop the habit of perseverance and how this habit is import to students.
According to research perseverance is as essential as intelligence and it is critical to success (Riggs, 2009). Riggs (2009) indicates that research is possibly the best measured trait n all human psychology; however, intelligence leaves a lot unexplained. According to Riggs (2009), there are people who achieve much without having the highest intelligence score.
In order to get the best outcome from the student the most preferable teaching style is cooperative learning; this is a strategy where a teacher incorporates small teams. Each team should corporate students with different ability levels using numerous learning activities to perk up their understanding of the topic. In this approach each student in the team is responsible for understanding what is taught and for helping other teammates to understand. Students should work through the group until each and everyone in the group understands this teaching strategy enhances an atmosphere of achievement (Frank et al., 2005).
In conclusion, by involving student in brainstorming and indicate obstacles that hider them from accomplishing their objective, they learn to overcome such difficulties with time. Student often underestimate how difficult it is sometime to meet some goals, this results to frustration and discouragement when they fall short of their target. They must be encouraged towards their goal. However, one should point out challenges and the dedication required to the target and shares the seriousness with the student and assists in working out a defined plan.
