Introduction
The following report shows how the scores attained on the assessment of my core values relates to my behavior. Core values are an important part of leading a healthy and fulfilling life and ought to be kept in check.
Summary
According to the assessment results, I am a very happy person. It is true since it reflects in my behavior towards others and also in how I carry myself. I am a helpful person and try to help at least one person every day even if it’s helping them in the slightest of activities such as picking up something that has fallen. I also go out to old people’s homes to help take care of them whenever I have time. My temper is quite low, so I hardly get infuriated, and when I do, I ensure I can control myself. Another source for my happiness is my friends who are happy people too and always lift my moods when am feeling low (Tymms, Scott & Peters, 2013).
A high score in the self-monitoring scale is explained in terms of my behavior. For one, I tend to be aware of my moves and always think rationally before I act. I have also developed a habit of catching myself when having negative thoughts that are non-beneficial to me. I then stop myself from having such thoughts by shifting my thoughts to something positive. I monitor the law and the moral values placed by society and do my best to follow them. Inclusive of the activities I carry out in a day is a 15 minutes meditation routine that assists me to focus in what am doing and improves many other sectors of my life such as improving my memory and my compassion for others (Tymms, Scott & Peters, 2013).
I scored high in social avoidance. It does not mean that I am antisocial but that I prefer to hang out with people who I know. I attend parties, but only those whereby I know a lot of the people attending. Otherwise, I am not much of a party person myself and will only go to the necessary ones. I also ensure that I am accompanied by a friend if I am to visit places with large crowds of people.
The scores reflected an intermediate level of assertiveness when it came to job hunting. I look up jobs once in a while when I come across a newspaper or when my friends are looking up jobs. It is difficult for me to ask my friends for job leads and I am hesitant to request for recommendations from my professors.
I have high confidence and esteem. I work out thrice a week and this routine has kept me in good shape. I am also happy with my sex life which also boosts my esteem.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the test done was quite accurate in revealing certain aspects of my life. The test is also beneficial to me since with it; I can assess which behaviors I need to retain, discard or improve. It also enables one to see how behavior influences our personal development.
