In addition, years later, the upcoming Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared state of emergency in India resulting from malpractice of the electoral system. The United States has two political parties; Democrats and Republicans, which trace their origin from independence where the prevailing party was Democratic - Republican Party. However, the Democratic Party was founded in the 1800s. The republican is viewed as one that has conservative ideologies while the Democratic Party is more modern. On the other hand, India has the main political parties including United Front (UF), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress Party in which the congress party has been in ruling in almost every government throughout the years. India gained independence in 1947 an it has had several failed governments. It is a different case for America, which gained independence in 1776. While the Indian government has had various cases of political disruptions and political leaders being assassinated, the United States has a relatively stable government, which has not only been able to govern its operations but also to have great influence to the rest of the world following its stake in the world war II. However, both governments have issues to deal with including the economy, employment and other social issues that have bearing in governance.
