Importance of evaluation tools
Evaluation tools refer to principles, rules, stages methods or instructions followed so as to accomplish an evidence-based project in nursing. The following are examples of EBP outcome are collaboration and funding, integrated servicers.
Collaboration and communication; since there are stages, then there is a tendency of encouraging and facilitating communication and also collaboration among the participating health care professional. Thus, it enhances confidence when working on a given project since everyone is given a chance and allowed to engage new ideas. When the opinions are encouraged, it will make the work easier as some may have encountered similar cases and know the best way of doing. The spirit of team-work is build through communication and collaboration and by doing so; it builds the professions’ spirit as they learn from each other. The other significance is that there will be clarity of objectives and goals because any doubt will be eliminated while the project as the results will be achieved without any hindrances thus motivating the participating members. The group feels recognized and appreciated hence increasing his importance.
In terms of funding, we must get out of the scarcity mindset in that all think that we are competing against each other towards a particular goal. Instead, we need to think in a wider perspective on ways that we can assist funders increase so as to fulfill the goals in the health sector. Cost estimation; this is known before beginning the project since the tools of evaluations states what is required to accomplish the project.
The third example is integrated services. Thus, as the health care providers, we have to understand that needs to receive a variety of services to enhance their safety, not only on how we can do our job but how best. Accountability is also significant as evaluation of tools because everyone knows that he or she is accountable for his/her actions done during the project. Hence, the participants will be more careful in whatever they do. With the stated procedures, it means there is proper dissemination of information on a project and safety should not be compromised. In conclusion, evaluation of tools is of great importance for any evidence-based change project.
