The state of women’s health ranks among the worst performing initiatives in the United States. Many women die during childbirth, and others do not access proper medication during the same. Another campaign is that against abortion. Adverts are put in place to help create awareness to the public on the effects of the act (Snyder, 1998). Mass education is also organized to ensure that everyone knows the impacts that abortion causes to the society.
All women are expected to have full access to quality and good health care services. This policy is regardless of their state of the economy since it is a public funding system that allows them to access healthcare comfortably. However, when it comes to abortion, the government strips off the federal funding to the women, and therefore it becomes tough for the women to continue with their plans. This has therefore minimized the rates of abortions due to the exorbitant fee involved and the small fund source.
Access to birth control pills and abortion services have been rigorously regulated by the government over the past years. Previously it was realized that abortion claimed the lives of many teenagers. The government has, therefore, put high prices on the birth control pills and the abortion services which has discouraged many underage and even grown parents with low income from accessing the services.
The disparity in healthcare is mainly caused by the differences between the populations. The problem in healthcare access is caused by lack of health insurance among the low-income earners. Low-income immigrant individuals have a great obstacle of facing legal barriers. Insurance covers through Medicaid are not availed to the immigrants who have been in the United States for less than five years. This is among the legal obstacles that face the immigrants with low income.
Minorities often have an inadequate or insufficient source of income. Inadequate funds minimize the possibility of the minority Groups to access a health care assistance effectively. Structural barriers also are one of the reasons that make the minorities overlooked. Inadequate infrastructure makes some of the places where the minorities reside impassable and with few good resources (Public Health Campaigns, 2013). This state of affairs in the places of residence of some of these minority groups makes it hard for the healthcare facilities to become effective and successful.
Overlooking minorities has been an issue that has been looked into over the years. Therefore according to the former surgeon, people should concentrate more on developing an early life, to promote a health equity between the rural and the urban areas. The aim of this is to build a stable health care system whose principles are based on equality to everyone despite their statuses (Birth Control Clinics, 2014). The former surgeon led an initiative to increase the number of years that the government sticks to the provision of a quality healthcare services to its citizens. His main aim was to make sure that the government treated all ethnic groups equally and all the other races received equal treatment for the government regardless of whether they were just immigrants.
