Two reasons why users are avoiding Windows 8
Users are avoiding Windows 8 due to the overlapping of Aero User and Metro interface. It is difficult and complicated for a user to switch between desktop applications and metro applications making windows eight not user-friendly, as it creates a lot of confusion for the developers and the users.
Another reason is that Windows 8 provides no possible way to turn home screens into icons. The Start screen looks garbled when many apps are installed.
Recommend at least one cause of action that Microsoft can take to address these concern and reason
Microsoft can come up with a technology that enables the changing of home screens to icons to minimize the garbling of apps and confusion to the users.
Question 2
Identify the pros and cons of three types of interfaces available to the users today. Determine the user interface, which is the most effective and user friendly. Give a rationale for your answer.
Command Line Interface (CLI)
This interface allows a user to provide input through typing a command using the computers keyboard, the system responds by printing a text on the computer's monitor (Subotin, 2016).
Pros
It's the fastest user interface
It requires less RAM
The processing time is much lower
Cons
Simple mistakes may have to be corrected by starting afresh which may be time-consuming.
May sometimes be confusing to a user
Web- user interface
This interface accepts input and in response, provides an output through the generation of webpages transmitted through the internet from where the user can view the web through the browser program.
Pro
It is fast, and thus saves time
Cons
It requires a lot of memory
Can only function when windows are available
Graphical User Interface (GUI)
This interface uses pictures to represent the output and input of a program. It is user-friendly since it involves the use of pictures.
Pros
It is easier to learn since a user does not have to learn complicated commands
Cons
Use a wider memory space that other interfaces
The best interface is the Graphic user interface. This is because it is easier to use for a beginner and is also more captivating due to the presence of graphics. In addition, it is rather error tolerant thus allows for better work flow and general operating efficiency.
