In chapter five ‘making beliefs and making believe’ Walter explains diverse effects of post-modernism in the world. He asserts that postmodernism has been ripped off the aspects of academic success and endeavor for self realization (113-115). The author introduces his topic on the effects of postmodernism to the world in such a good poise to all its readers. He asserts that normal existence of the world has been eroded by postmodernism and reality replaced with devilish illusions.
Walter further illustrates how human thoughts on various beliefs are different (pp116-117). He passionately explains how postmodernism has influenced self indulgence in politics, music, religious convictions and beliefs. Moreover making a people involves confidence to handle the turbulent everyday life. According to Walter believe systems influence religion and culture in Hinduism and Buddhism although they are easily swayed away by spiritual symbols.
In the western and eastern world, various people have different opinions and views concerning realities (pp118). People develop differing public opinions according to their geographical fragmentations. Although the practical truth of reality is spreading so much in the world, many people are continually getting confounded on the need to get into the act. The persuasion about truth affects the discipline of many people in various parts of the world.
The aspect of God as only the source of truth is still a factor of controversy and a mixture of pseudo-event and exposure to real lives (119-120). Buddha was the first constructionist to go out convincing his followers concerning life and beliefs. Reality is meant to liberate the human race in order to embrace transformation. However, reality has turned tables of many people and transformed them to negative lifestyle of hopelessness.
