It is with utter delight that I write this letter of recommendation for Amy Lee, whom I had the chance to supervise as she worked under me in several projects. She was involved with a co-op study with me at our company, where she built a networked power meter under my supervision and guidance. As a student, she participated in my class, which I created as a guest lecturer. My company sponsored students’ projects. The class involved electrical and instrumentation design.
As a science student, Amy has a exceptionally articulate and creative mind. In addition, she is a fast learner and understands issues remarkably quickly. This was evident while working on the low cost power meter project. This involved a 110V power source, a three-stage amplifier and antenna pane that sends Wi-Fi signals. Based on the schematics she drew, she understood the basics of designing a PCB faster than most people would understand. This enabled her to build the circuit board that was smaller compared to the maximum specifications. Additionally, she learned to code, by herself, using MPLAB C 18 programming language with only resources that were available to her. This showed her initiative and will for learning all that she can at her disposal.
Amy also works with other colleagues well during teamwork. Because of her zeal and dedication, we decided to let Amy to work with us after the project was complete and she assisted us in developing other models of sensors that were in production.
