The success of Genesis Healthcare was not made possible without the support of its employees who were committed in delivering quality healthcare. One of the organizational strategy of Genesis that relates to its employees is defined in the statement of its core values. New and seasoned employees are always reminded of their company’s belief in them. This is important because the core belief in the ability of the employees is a factor that also expands to the organizations as whole. The management recognizes that the implementation of its mission and the achievement of the vision and objectives are largely dependent on skills, talents and dedication of the employees in delivering their daily tasks.
The organizational strategy in relation to the employees starts off with the development of the mission and vision and how the employees can play a role in achieving them. These are designed, planned, communicated and expressed verbally and in writing. Consequently, the organizational leaders make sure that they are well understood by everyone.
Currently, the Genesis Healthcare employs about 90,000 people who are assigned in over more than 500 nursing centers (Genesis, 2017). In its goal to employ the most qualified in the field, Genesis healthcare conduct recruitment events regularly. In addition to that, the company ensures that its employees continually engage in self-improvement activities. In line with this, the management is always working towards the development of programs for personal and professional improvement. For example, as part of its strategic plan, the company conducts leadership development programs, and provide an opportunity for employees to advance in their respective careers. Employees who qualify for the leadership development program receive support and mentorship to help them advance in the leadership position.
