A Fantastic Journey is known as the first survey based in United States specifically in Brooklyn. Wangechi Mutu is the artists behind the exhibition which entailed more than fifty pieces which include the Artist’s signature, video works, sketchbook drawings, large-scale collages, sculptural installations and a site specific wall drawing. Wangechi Mutu was born in Nairobi; Kenya was able to gather as well as combining materials such as magazines cutouts, painted imagery and sculpture. This portrays her creativity and innovative way of combining materials from different sources to make an extinguish.
Wangechi Mutu works of exhibition play a vital role as it scrutinize diverse fields such as international politics, African traditions, pornography, science fiction and fashion industry. The issues introduced on the exhibition explore war, colonialism, race, gender and global consumption as well as eroticization of the female body. Most of her works are known for spectacular, provocative and stimulating collages which depict female figures, human part, animal, plant and machine. This implies that the exhibition’s main purpose is to enable people open up their eyes, minds and souls to issues that are affecting them and those surrounding them. Therefore, the society should try its best to make it possible and also overlook issues surrounding psychological, cultural and socio-political exploration as well as its transformation. Her exhibition works display how the politics have transformed and grown to a level which is admirable. People should love and even learn on how such artistic works educate the society.
Isa Genzken's exhibition in MOMA museum
Isa Genzeken is regarded as one the best, influential, and even outstanding female artists over the years, precisely past 30 years. Genzeken’s exhibition work is considered as part of the artistic displays which existed in the mid 1970s and was established in the American Museum.
