Greenhouse emits carbon dioxide gas that traps heat from the sun thereby contributing to global warming. Global warming is mainly worsened by activities that continue to increase carbon dioxide in the atmosphere for example burning fossil fuels and natural gas, forest damage and manufacture of cement which consumes a lot of globe possessions. We can define global warming as an increase in the standard heat of the environment and oceans (Butterworth, 2009). .
We should acquire energy efficient cars since it reduces the level of carbon dioxide in the air enormously. Gore stresses on curbing emissions of greenhouse gases and sinking human impact on the globe such as driving less, use of bikes, walking, recycling more and using fewer burning water .Recycling will significantly lessen the level power needed to generate fresh products hence the need of coming up with recycling hub (Gore, 2007). Riding a bike reduces global warming since it requires no gas. By biking instead of using motor vehicles, you will save money and at the same time get fit. By adopting this strategy, you will be setting a positive example in your society. By using less energy, you lower the higher claim on power plants, which means less pollution.
Gores sister, Nancy, died of lung cancer and this forces his father to give up tobacco farming. There is a clip in the film about a frog that cannot withstand unexpected change in hot water, but the frog jump into water that increases hotness slowly making it harder to apprehend the change until it is saved. The frog is figurative representing the grown-up generations that have gone through the primary changes with no positive outcome. It is up to the youth to wake up and move out of water and start solving the crisis at hand. The film also states that one of the way to solving this problem is voting in a man like Al Gore. A Leader who is familiar with the existing crisis (Gore, 2007). These leaders are more likely to execute actions that protect our background for example, use of renewable power sources such as wind and solar power. This practice of substitute fuels and power sources should be encouraged. Kerosene to solar power which is most preferred. We should also use power sources that do not manufacture huge amounts of greenhouse gases for example bio-fuel. There should be minimal gas use in cooking since it contributes a lot in the emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Problems of global warming must be learned in order to unravel it. The film educates the viewers using graphs and photos that global warming exists. The film also refers viewers to a website for extra actions that can be implemented in order to alleviate this problem. Trees should be planted since they take in carbon dioxide thereby reducing the capacity of this gas in the atmosphere. Trees planted around the house keeps the atmosphere conducive and this reduces the usage of air conditioners which result to low power use. Any appliances that uses the electricity should be turned off when not in use in order to save energy for example, TV, computer ,do not use sleep mode, and turn off unnecessary lights.( Gore ,2007).Your home should keep you contented. Any move that you make has unnoticed penalty. Switching on the air-conditioner makes the globe outside to become a slim warmer because of improved use of nonrenewable power. Carbon capture and storage is an emerging technology which captures carbon emissions from power plants and manufacturing sources (Butterworth, 2009). This gas is condensed and stored greatly in the same way we use toxic waste control devices to keep pollutants out of our air and water.
We have been blaming the government for problems arising but if we want to reverse this problem and change the world positively. We should start with ourselves and identifying that every individual has a role to engage in recreation in order to solve this problem. This problem is caused by humans, so humans should be able to repair it. We should unite all together implementing the above mentioned strategies so as to tackle this problem and make the world a better place for today’s and future generations to come. The governments and the countries must come into a concurrence on a common way out that needs to be implemented. The governments should stop factories producing carbon dioxide and control the forests from being ruined .The government should also manage the use of inorganic fertilizers and encourage organic farming (Islam, 2008)
