The capital machine that hospital requires urgently is an X-ray machine that costs around $124,995. The machine uses electric power to take images of the bones and other internal parts of the body. It comes in handy for the nurses and the doctors. It has several benefits for the nurses, the doctors, the administration and the patients as it makes the process of identifying fractures and broken bones easier. This ensures that there is efficiency in service delivery.
The management can derive a lot of benefits from purchasing the x-ray machine and some of the goals include improved productivity. The use of x-ray machines in the facility helps in making sure that the levels of productivity is increased because the nurses will not be wasting a lot of time waiting for an external test before writing reports to the doctors to prescribe medication. With an x-ray machine in the company, there is minimum time wastage as all the procedures are done within the company by the internal staff increasing the productivity as compared to sending the patients to another hospital or facility to get an x-ray. The management has had plans to increase the productivity of the workers and with the purchase of the x-ray machine, this will be possible, as the workers will exercise their qualification by putting in the skills learnt in college and in the process increase the productivity (Marvin, 1968). The hospital has nurses who are qualified to perform the x-rays and the lack of an x-ray machine means that they are not fully productive in the areas where they have qualifications. The other management goal of the organization is quality assurance. This is the provision of high quality services to the patients.
The demand for high quality services is now one of the things that can either attract or drive away patients. The purchase of an x-ray machine will ensure this goal is achieved. The patients coming to the facility to be examined and need to undergo x-rays will not have to go out and look for x-rays elsewhere. They will get all the services they need and the prescriptions required to provide quality care. The hospital needs more sources of income and reduction in expenditures. Without and x-ray machine the expenditures are high and the revenues are not pleasing. Therefore, the x-ray machine will be another source of revenue to the hospital because the patients will not be spending their money to get x-rays elsewhere.
The purchase of the x-ray machine will improve the economic income in the hospital. In the past the company has been dividing the income form the x-ray services with the external companies that have been coming here regularly to provide the x-ray services to clients. This has not been giving enough income to sustain the facility because the terms of payment with the external provider were fixed notwithstanding the number of x-rays done. Purchasing an x-ray machine belonging to the company means that not all the money from the x-rays performed on the patient will have to be divided into two parts, but all of it will go to the company’s financial records. This translates to a better economic environment in the company. The machine will also increase income from external patients who will come to the facility to get x-rays when they are referred to the hospital. The patients who used to prefer visiting other facilities for fear of wasting their time coming her and then being told to wait for an external x-ray provider will have more faith in the ability of the hospital to provide all the health care services needed to make their health better. This will increase the revenues (Marvin, 1968).
There are different organization goals that the company is yet to achieve. The purchase of an x-ray machine will ensure that the organizational goals are achieved within the set time. The cost containment is one of the goals of the organization. This is where the costs of expenses are kept at a minimum level. The use of x-ray machines in the hospital will help minimize the expenses incurred in consulting external service providers. The provision of quality care is in high demand and is one of the organizational goals. The purchase of the x-ray machine will make sure that the delivery of patient care is guaranteed and that the patients do not have to struggle to look for some services elsewhere yet they have all the facilities required to provide quality care for the patients.
The organization needs to provide an all-round health services to their patients. Therefore, the lack of an x-ray machine in the organization does not make this desire a reality. The purchase of the machine will ensure that there is quality delivery of services in the different departments, as it will minimize fragments in the delivery of services. Right now, the different departments do not work in harmony because at some point external services are required to help complete the necessary treatment (Marvin, 1968). This undermines the quality of treatment given to the patients.
The organization needs to maintain a high level of quality delivery in an effort to attract and keep their existing customers and they cannot achieve this when they lack quality machines that are required to provide good services that will attract the customers. The purchase of the equipment is a crucial step towards achieving the different goals set in the organization. The different departments need to work together to provide quality care and with the fragments seen currently this is not possible. The departments have their own goals with the finance department trying to minimize the expenses and increase the incomes. The use of external x-rays does not provide this and therefore, there is an urgency to purchase the equipment.
The equipment may be expensive, but it is worth the expenses incurred. It will improve the efficiency in the delivery of services and minimize time wasting as the nurses wait for the external x-ray results. The levels of productivity and utilization of skills and knowledge of the staff will ensure that there is efficiency in the delivery of services to the patients. The organizations’ goal is to be the best medical center in the region providing quality services and care to its patients (Childs, 1968). This means that it has to make sure its services are of high quality in order to be the best medical organization in the region. The advancement in technology seen in the medical sector demands that the medical facilities embrace the advancements in order to provide quality services and the x-ray machine is one of the technological products that help make the provision of treatment fast and efficient. The productivity of the different departments depends on the presence of the equipment to enable the nurses and the doctors to provide efficient services. This will be possible with the purchase of the x-ray machine that will eliminate the fragments seen in the surgical department where the doctors and nurses depend on external sources to provide x-ray results for the patients. Delivery of quality care for the patients’ needs a high level of productivity from the different departments and this can be achieved if everyone in the organization puts their skills and qualifications into use.
