According to recent statistics of religious faiths share, the Christian faiths appear to be fighting a losing battle against the Muslim faith. In the past, the Muslim faith domination was almost negligible with more than 80% of the world population being Christians. In the modern contemporary society, the Muslim faith has spread to other places apart from its origin in the Asian continent. Currently, the Muslim faith has gained root to dominate over 1/6 of the world population (Olson, 2-6).
For the Christian faith to avoid eradication, it must come up with a strategic plan of retaining its followers. This plan has to be incorporated in almost all the Christian faiths which are believed to be over ten with Catholicism having the largest share. Some of the vital components for this strategy are discussed below (Olson, 10).
Most of the Christian faiths adhere to old and outdated doctrines which the modern society find hard to follow. This has led to rebellion of some Christianity followers making them either change their denomination while maintaining the Christian faith or shun Christianity and follow Islam. Therefore, the Christian faiths in general should revise their doctrines and mould them according to the contemporary society (hprweb.com/2012/03/challenging-islam).
The other issue that has made Christianity lose members is the division within the faith. There have erupted too many denominations within the Christian faith which are opposing one another on some issues. Instead of sitting on a round table and resolving the differences, these faiths are publicly pointing fingers at one another giving the Islamic faith a chance to woo followers to its side (radicalislam.org/analysis/media-neglects-muslim-eradication-christians).
Lastly, the Christian faith must in unison campaign for itself. This should be a step taken after the worldwide campaign of Islamic faith and doctrines which appear flexible to the people who in turn have decided to follow this les strict faith. By this public campaign, the people will have to know the Christian faith better and considering the strengths of this faith, the people will have a second thought before exiting.
